There is no doubt that social media has revolutionised how news is reported, shared and consumed.
Journalists have access to live and ever-changing information and a way to connect with their audience.
And as a business owner embarking on PR and looking to secure some media coverage - social media is a beautiful free tool waiting to be utilised.
From a PR point of view, we can have the name of a magazine editor, or a list of podcast shows we could pitch ourselves to within SECONDS.
Social media a GOLDMINE for media contacts and getting on the radar of journalists.
Twitter (X) may be twelfth on the list of most social media active users (Statista, 2024) but it’s still a formidable force when it comes to engaging with the media.
In fact, these journalists are the only reason I still have my Twitter account.
